I made my own Hamburger Buns!

Yes... the Master Boule Recipe, just rolled into smallish round 'meatballs' and baked for about 10 minutes!
I haven't purchased any bread in 3 months!
If I can't make it with my dough, we don't need it!
These are sliders. They are about 3 inches in diameter.

Alex's creation (read mess) If you look really close you can see the kitchen sink in there too!
He made up for the small size in heighth!

When bread dough commits suicide...
It is a sad... sad... day.

I made bagels from the Yogurt dough!

Well, okay, they don't look like bagels.. but they sure taste like 'em!
I put them into my Pampered Chef Silicone cupcake pan and made the cute designs on them for some, and some I tried to make real bagels shapes.
They all taste the same with cream cheese.
This dough is a Cinnamon Yogurt Dough.
In the book... its the Buttermilk dough recipe, but instead of Buttermilk, I add one cup of plain lowfat yogurt in place of one cup of the water.
Then I added 2 tablespoons of cinnamon to the recipe, and it takes just like cinnamon raisin bagels. Sans raisins... I ran out.
No, that's not powdered sugar on them, it's the flour.
My men will be eating these in the morning.
I'll post a picture of the Pan I used to the right.
Enjoy!

Homemade Pizza Night.

Boule Dough, getting ready to be rolled out as pizza.

I love my french roller!

Left is Mozzarella (cheap stuff) mixed with grated Pecorino Romano (good stuff) and on the right are carmelized onions. Raw onions tend to burn.

Left... my FAVORITE carmelized Eggplant, on the right Finely chopped Kalamata Olives.

Just more bread stuff...

Oh... it seems like forever that I've been on here!
I haven't stopped making bread...have you?
I haven't purchased bread in almost 2 months!
Now if I can only make my own milk and cereal... half my grocery bill will be taken care of.
My kids can eat their weight in milk and cereal in the morning.
Hollow legs I suppose.
***
So, I've made raisin bread every week for about a month now. Raisin bread grilled cheese sandwich is SOOOO delicious!
Really! Try it!
I braided some bread this morning.
***
Now that the weather has actually been below 100, I feel like I can bake in the morning now.
The braid is on the title spot on the top of the page.
***
Sooo, let me know if you are still mixing dough! I feel so alone!

Mama the Lunch lady...

My nightly routine. I bake my bread, I cut my bread, I stack the bread with goodies.
The spots are Balsamic Vinegar, the red strings are Roasted Red Peppers, green is Romaine lettuce.

Mustard and Turkey Ham, or whatever meat I have on hand.

Done and ready to pack in foil.

Johnny gets a small one. Will gets two because he is at school for 12 hours.

Bill gets the one of his choosing, and Alex wants his packed with Pepperoncini peppers.

All I need is a hair net, a hairy mole, a cigarette and I am in Lunch Lady business like the one that worked at my Jr. High back in the day!
